Pet's Eye View Camera™ FAQ

Is the Pet's Eye View Camera compatible with my Mac or PC?

The Pet's Eye View Camera is compatible with both Macs and PCs!

My computer is not recognizing the Camera. What can I do?

First attempt to use the Camera on a different computer. Sometimes there may be security features in place that can prevent a computer from interfacing with external hardware. If the Camera will not interface with multiple computers, reset the Camera to its factory default setting.

Can I use a different USB cable to link my Camera to my computer?

No. The USB cable we provide is proprietary and is the only cable you can use to interface your Camera with your computer. Be sure to plug your USB cable into your camera the correct way. DO NOT FORCE THE CABLE. The Camera end of the cable should click into the port with little resistance.

How many pictures will the Pet's Eye View Camera store?

The Camera's memory can store up to 40 photos.

Do I have to install any additional software to retrieve my photos from the Camera?

No. The Camera will automatically interface with the photo viewing software already present on your computer.

The pictures on my Camera have gone missing! Where did they go?
If your Camera ran out of batteries, the pictures would have been lost when the Camera lost power. Make sure and download the pictures onto your computer before the Camera loses battery power! (See Question 7) Also, if your Camera is fully charged and you're still not able to view the pictures on your computer, it may be time to reset the Camera to the factory presets.
How do I know when my battery level is low on my Camera?
When the battery level falls below a certain point, the LED indicator will start flashing RED and your Camera will no longer take pictures. You will then have five hours to transfer your pictures to your computer before the Camera loses all battery power.
How do I charge my Pet's Eye View Camera?
Simply take the USB cable we provide with the Camera and plug the unit into your computer. The Camera will begin charging immediately.
What kind of collar is best suited for use with the Pet's Eye View Camera?
Use a flat nylon or leather pet collar with the Camera. The collar must be a minimum of 3/8 inch wide. Collars must be purchased separately. Do NOT use with a chain collar.
My images are distorted or foggy. What can I do?
Most likely, the lens is dirty. Blow any dust off of the lens and wipe it down with a soft cloth.
How do I delete the images from my camera?
Once your Pet's Eye View Camera is connected to your computer via the USB cable, the computer will recognize the Camera as an external hard drive. Simply open this newly recognized hard drive and delete the pictures from that location.
